Volunteer Event Announcement

We’re gearing up for a key moment in the Walsall Windrush Sisters project calendar with a community-wide Volunteer Drive event on International Volunteer Day, taking place Thursday 5 December from 10am–4pm at Bethel Lighthouse Centre.

This event brings local organisations, heritage partners, and residents together for a full day of connection, cultural celebration, and skill-building opportunities. Attendees can explore a wide range of volunteer roles across the WWS project, including: photo documentation, digital scanning, oral history support, transcription, events assistance, and advocacy. It’s a streamlined way to discover where your strengths, interests, and ambitions can fit into a growing heritage initiative.

The day will feature international food, networking spaces, and an open invitation for guests to attend in their cultural attire. The focus is on community spirit, representation, and building a shared sense of purpose around the work ahead.

If you're looking to develop new skills, support a local heritage project, or connect with like-minded people, this is a standout opportunity to get involved. We’re excited to welcome new volunteers and strengthen the team driving the next phase of the project.
